Today is one of those mornings that the birds are chirping, the sun is shining, the fog is rolling in and yet in 30 minutes you know the fog will be gone. It is a lot like "problems"...problems are usually here now and gone in a moment. As I step outside to see my chirpy morning friends, my son Peyton comes and stands beside me. He says "you know mom, I may not be able to marry you...but you can't make me move!" I started laughing so hard, since I guess the many conversations we have been having about Skylar's future (college) must have his little wheels turning. My response was, "Can we go draw up a contract on that?"

Now that my children are getting older I thought my days of "Mommy, will you marry me" were over. My response to both Trevor and Peyton was always, "No buddy I cant, cuz God has someone just as special picked out for you, we just have to wait and see who that person is"....then I would go cry, thinking how I would miss the days when they out grew that stage. I guess this is God's way of showing me that there are plenty other just as precious moments ahead if I keep my mind focused on the positives and relish EVERY moment. My sweet friend Tesi and I were shopping one day when we saw a picture and it read "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of MOMENTS that take our breath away"....well this was one of those moments!

  1. You know Shannon , Steven and I used to have those moments and trust me they grow up to fast. Now he is married and I am not #1 in his life anymore as it should be, BUT that does not make the "sting" of that any better. So don't blink, don't miss a second, because all too soon they WILL be all grown up.

    Love, Kristy
